Street Kitchen's new base in Testbed1, Battersea, includes a
large commercial kitchen, geared to serving thousands of lunches
each day, loaded into airstream caravans and transported into
central London. The company's vision is modern British cuisine made
from local organic produce and eventually aim to grow vegetables
and keep bees on the roof of Testbed1.
A unique hatch pokes out from under an existing stairway to
serve simple and healthy bistro style dishes into the Testbed
courtyard space. Clad in chequerplate aluminium, the front pivots
open at lunchtimes, and visitors can now enjoy the food with a
drink from neighbouring Doodle Bar, whilst looking around an
exhibition in Testbed.
