The London Distillery set in motion plans devised by Ralph Dodd
in 1807 to produce high end spirits in London. As part of the
refurbishment of the TESTBED1 historic warehouses, aLL Design were
appointed to redesign a portion of the building to
house London's first whiskey distillery in a century.
The facility accommodated machinery that resembled something out
of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, which enabled bespoke gin and
whiskey to be produced with a variety of rare ingredients. The
distillery became a vital part of TESTBED1's success, serving
experimental spirits in the Doodle Bar as well as exporting Dodd's
The distillery moved home in 2015 when the TESTBED1 site in
Battersea was marketed for sale to developers.
